How was your holiday weekend? We could not have asked for better weather here. We took my parents to see the Pacific Ocean and then to hike Saddle Mountain--where from its summit you can see the vast Ocean, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Jefferson all in the distance above the expansive greenery (& beautiful wildflowers!).
The Blues Festival was going on down by the Waterfront all weekend- and the size of it was impressive. The four-day festival was seeking to raise over $600,000 and 100,000 pounds of food to benefit the Oregon Food Bank- which is amazing considering that 100% of donations were going towards the cause and big names like Maceo Parker and Buddy Guy were playing. The Waterfront Park was completely transformed and it was fun to people watch, dance, and grab a beer. My parents had a great visit and it was overall a wonderful summer weekend.
Hope you had a great 4th of July. I still cannot quite grasp that it is July. Where does time go?
