Saturday evening we took the ferry over to Bainbridge Island, where a good friend of mine from school actually grew up. The ferry ride was a fun way to see the city skyline, and, taking it near sunset, was nothing short of a beautiful view. We went for dinner at Cafe Nola, on the advice of my friend, and it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Over Ahi Tuna, local wine, fresh bread, and plenty of stories, we had quite the nice evening.
Sunday we had a leisurely brunch and then went out to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We went to a beach on the Sound that looked across at the Cascade Mountain Range. It was a ridiculously idyllic spot for a game of beach volleyball, impromptu yoga session, and taking in the sun. There were so many people out with their dogs, sailing, flying kites, and overall enjoying the perfect day for the beach.
Ginny being the perfect hostess had already made a dinner for us, and we enjoyed eating together before we had to hit the road back to Oregon. All in all it was a truly amazing weekend, I am a big fan of Seattle, and (as always) thankful for the good friends, good weather, and good food that made it.
Hope you had a great weekend! Can you believe it is already May?

and now all I'm craving is a trip to the pacific northwest! you're looking beautiful as usual, doll.
I definitely cannot believe that it's May and I'm uber jealous that you have a beach is so easily accessible to you! Dallas is a concrete jungle! Looks like y'all had a great time!
Looks so fun! I've always wanted to go to Seattle. I can't believe it's May either.
